As an Operations expert in his field, Ben has guided those under him to warm and exceptional care for the elderly. He has over thirty years of experience in senior living including skilled nursing, assisted living, Alzheimer’s, independent living and continuing care retirement communities encompassing 33 states and more than 200 communities.

His book, Operations Management for Senior Living Communities, was first published in 1998, and a second edition in 2007 by John Hopkins University Press and is now the go-to handbook for effective senior residential facilities. His publications can be found in all the top senior housing trade journals. He is also an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University and New York University. • Managed over 200 senior living communities in 33 states totaling $1 billion in revenue in both private and publicly traded companies including Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Independent living and CCRC.
• Design, development, opened and filled 75 facilities from scratch.
• Delivered Operating Margins as high as 57.5% while achieving 93% customer satisfaction and as low as 18% employee turnover.
• Published 6 books on Operations and Marketing of Senior Living Communities, one of which has been converted for use in the certification of administrators and as a required text at major universities in several states. He has also published 27 eBooks on Amazon Kindle and iTunes on the business of senior housing.
• Taught the Business of Senior Housing and Development as an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University and New York University.
